Job Summary McKesson is seeking a Vice President, RxOwnership – East who will be responsible for gaining new business and retaining existing business by facilitating ownership transfers through matching potential buyers and sellers, consulting on the process, arranging financing and creating general awareness to alternatives to selling to a chain pharmacy. The VP will plan and execute a regional strategy to increase the number of successful ownership transfers and serve as a resource for the field sales teams and play a lead role on key region initiatives and priorities. Salary is commensurate with location. Key Responsibilities Work closely with state associations, pharmacy schools, buying groups and field sales to promote awareness of the program and develop lists of potential buyers and sellers. Ensure McKesson is at the table when stores are for sale to maintain the viability of the CPH market segment. Oversee the smooth ownership transfer process, coordinating with the appropriate McKesson team. Partner with the Field Sales Teams (PSC, DSA, VPS, and AVPs) of the Independent Segment and MCFS to provide financing alternatives for potential buyers and develop new financing sources by cultivating relationships with banks and other financial institutions. Maintain accurate databases of potential buyers and sellers using SFDC, Performance Notes and direct communication; track all ownership transfer activity in the region including competitor activity. Provide strategic analysis of industry status for the region and develop and communicate strategies with VP of RxOwnership, CP&H, AVPs, and field sales for regional goals. Support consultative ownership transfer in areas including Deal Awareness, Brokerage, Financing, Tracking & Analysis, and Program Development. Coordinate development with the Analytics Team on data to enhance predictive footprint for sellers. Assist the RxOwnership Start‑Up Specialist team through start‑up, due diligence, licensing, supply agreements and legal services; evaluate business plans to enhance viability. Provide weekly tracking of all deals in the pipeline via SFDC and provide status updates to senior leadership. Develop tactics to reduce losses and increase acquisition of new business through ownership transfer; create training and presentation materials. Improve and enhance the RxOwnership.com website and host industry webinars. Work with pharmacy schools and McKesson pharmacy owners to develop preceptor programs; encourage junior partnership relationships. Collaborate with other BUs to maximize use of McKesson assets. Qualifications & Experience Degree or equivalent; typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience (less if Master’s or Doctorate). Bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus. Pharmacist license a plus. Current driver’s license with clean MVR. Ability to travel up to 60% within the market geography. Core Skills 10+ years in retail or pharmacy operations (chain or independent). 3-5 years experience with specific software systems. Business or finance knowledge, pharmacy law and regulatory knowledge. Consultative skills, critical thinking, ownership transfer process knowledge. Financial analysis, banking and loan knowledge. Salesforce.com knowledge. Understanding of state and federal pharmacy regulations and third‑party (PBM) regulations. Small business M&A knowledge a plus. Additional Skills 2+ years McKesson experience preferred. 5+ years ownership transfer or brokerage experience preferred. Knowledge of loan amortizations. Knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, tax returns. Required Competencies Confidentiality, critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, results orientation, energy.
