Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney/Partner with a portable book of business to join their practice in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, tax law, probate law, and trust law, and will be adept at managing high net worth clients' estate planning needs. Duties Develop comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' specific needs and goals. Advise clients on tax implications and strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Handle the probate process, including court proceedings and asset distribution. Manage and administer trusts in compliance with laws and agreements. Identify and pursue business development opportunities. Requirements Strong foundation in estate planning, tax law, probate law, and trust law. Experience with high net worth families and complex estate planning. Proficiency in succession planning, fiduciary accounting, and tax preparation. Excellent communication and active listening skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Precision in drafting legal documents. Handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Education Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school. Certifications Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Michigan. Skills Estate and gift tax complex planning.
