CDL B Delivery Driver

The CDL B Delivery Driver safely transports building materials to contractors, construction sites, and residential customers within the local market. Responsibilities:

• Operate a CDL Class B vehicle to complete local delivery routes safely and efficiently.
• Deliver building materials to contractors, construction job sites, and residential homeowners within the local area.
• Safely load, unload, and secure materials on flatbed or box trucks to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Provide outstanding customer service at delivery locations, including professional communication and courteous interaction.
• Complete all required delivery documentation accurately and maintain electronic logbooks in compliance with company and DOT standards.
• Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance.
• Maintain DOT compliance at all times, including adherence to hours-of-service and safety regulations.
• Assist with yard operations, including material staging, loading and unloading trucks, and general inventory handling.
• Support warehouse and yard responsibilities during slower winter months and as business needs require.
• Work closely with dispatchers, yard personnel, and branch leadership to coordinate routes and ensure smooth deliveries.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve delivery issues and ensure materials arrive on time and in good condition.
• Maintain a professional, safety-focused attitude while driving, working in the yard, and interacting with customers.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong work ethic, contributing positively to a team-focused environment.
• Take initiative to ask questions, learn product knowledge, and improve processes in both delivery and yard operations.

Essential Skills:

• Valid CDL Class B license.
• Clean driving record with a strong focus on safe driving practices.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Ability to lift and handle building materials safely, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Experience operating CDL B vehicles, such as flatbed or box trucks, for local deliveries.
• Strong customer service skills with an outgoing and customer-facing personality.
• Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with dispatchers, yard staff, and customers.
• Reliable attendance and demonstrated job tenure, showing a stable work history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience delivering building materials, lumber, or construction supplies is preferred.
• Lumber yard or building materials yard experience is a plus.
• Experience in the construction industry or construction material delivery is beneficial.
• Local route delivery experience, especially in a customer-facing role, is preferred.
• Experience operating flatbed trucks, box trucks, or other building material delivery vehicles is advantageous.
• Forklift operating experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience using electronic logging systems and maintaining accurate delivery documentation is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers and provide exceptional service.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50,000.00 - $67,000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
