Legal Assistant

LHH is recruiting a litigation legal assistant for a downtown law firm. The Litigation Legal Assistant will assist the attorney(s) by providing secretarial support services.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare correspondence, legal memoranda, pleadings, and other documents in draft and final form from handwritten material and typed copy.
  • Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow to meet project deadlines including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and calendar management.
  • Electronic filing of court documents including filing documents under seal.
  • Extensive client contact and interaction.
  • Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Running conflicts checks and opening new matters,
    • Time entry and monthly billing,
    • Set up, maintain, and ensure that files are kept current including classifying, arranging files, filing, and storing information.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a law firm or legal setting.
  • Strong computer skills, experience with NetDocs is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, electronic filing processes in, and other related matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
