Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 12-week day shift assignment at a teaching and community hospital.

Job Details

• 12-hour day shift assignment (3x12), 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM,
• 24/7 respiratory therapy department covering all hospital floors,
• Coverage includes a 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and a 47-bed/5-bay Trauma ED,
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed,
• No on-call requirements,
• Uses Epic EMR along with Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 ventilators,

Job Requirements

• RRT certification required,
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required,
• GA state license required (License required if applicable),
• NRP certification preferred,
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2+ years preferred,
• Prior travel experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, intubation, ABG draws and analysis, CPT, Nitric Oxide therapy, and COVID-19 patient management,
• Experience with open heart patient care required,
• First-time travelers not accepted,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across a wide range of units including adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatrics,
• Perform medicated aerosol treatments, airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care,
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures including bubble CPAP and capillary blood gases,
• Support ECMO and high-frequency oscillator ventilation as needed,
• Participate in patient transport, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport,
• Scrubs may be any color except all-red or all-navy blue,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission,
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week,
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period,
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate,
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling,
• Previous employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
