This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled School Psychologist or School Social Worker seeking a hands-on role with a specialized, tight-knit student population. The position offers an immediate start and runs through late May, providing consistent, meaningful work throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado DOE Special Service Provider (SSP) License with endorsement as a School Psychologist or School Social Worker
- Recent experience supporting middle and high school students with severe behavioral or social/emotional needs in alternative or intensive settings (day treatment, facility placements, etc.)
- Background check and fingerprint clearance are required prior to onboarding
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education evaluations, and behavioral intervention strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver mental health services to students in grades 6-12 with significant needs, as identified in their IEPs
- Serve as the sole mental health provider for Meridian Academy, currently supporting 23 students, with a maximum caseload of up to 30
- Collaborate closely with program staff to design and implement behavioral and social-emotional interventions
- Conduct all IEP-related responsibilities, including evaluations, participating in meetings, and developing plans tailored to student needs
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support to foster student well-being and a positive school environment
