Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions via secure video conferencing, facilitating discussions that support clients in improving their mental health.
• Foster a safe, empathetic environment where clients can explore their emotions, experiences, and relationships to gain deeper self-understanding.
• Act as a dedicated advocate for clients, collaborating with them to identify and define their personal treatment goals.
• Assess clients' mental health conditions, utilizing comprehensive evaluations to craft and implement effective, solution-focused treatment plans based on your clinical expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Empowering Choices, the clientele consists of pre-screened individuals who are stable and present low acuity issues. This intentional focus allows our therapists to concentrate on delivering quality care and developing long-term strategies for clients. Your expertise will be essential in shaping their growth and recovery processes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• An independent license from the state board, such as:
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Ability to conduct professional assessments and make informed treatment planning decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate approach towards clients.
• Proficient in using computers and telecommunication technologies for remote counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a remote setting or familiarity with teletherapy is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Experience in billing and administrative aspects of therapy is a plus, though minimal paperwork support will be provided.
