Location: Huntsville, AL, US

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sonographer to provide mobile ultrasound services throughout the Kansas City, Kansas region. This role offers the opportunity to deliver diagnostic imaging services to patients in nursing homes, home care facilities, correctional facilities, and other designated locations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in both general and vascular ultrasound, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and diagnostic image quality.

A company vehicle will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general and vascular ultrasound examinations using portable sonographic equipment.
• Travel to assigned facilities to complete physician-ordered diagnostic examinations.
• Obtain high-quality, diagnostically appropriate images and transmit them digitally to radiologists for interpretation.
• Verify physician orders against patient records before performing examinations.
• Confirm patient identity using two approved patient identifiers.
• Follow established protocols for patient safety, infection control, documentation, and equipment handling.
• Complete and submit exam-related paperwork and billing documentation daily.
• Coordinate with dispatch, call center personnel, facility staff, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor dispatch systems and respond promptly to communications and urgent requests.
• Maintain company-provided equipment, mobile devices, and assigned vehicle in appropriate working condition.
• Report equipment malfunctions and other operational concerns promptly.
• Attend required meetings, training sessions, and annual infection control education.
• Maintain professional, ethical, and courteous interactions with patients, facility personnel, and colleagues.
• Work independently with minimal direct supervision while managing assigned cases efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
• Current ARDMS or CCI credentials accepted for vascular ultrasound .
• Experience and competency in both general and vascular ultrasound .
• Valid driver's license; limited licenses are not accepted.
• Ability to travel to multiple patient care facilities throughout the assigned region.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills, including scanning documents and sending email attachments.
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile daily caseload.
• Successful completion of required background screening and drug screening.
• Compliance with required medical examinations, TB screening, and infection control requirements.
• COVID-19 vaccination or submission of appropriate exemption documentation, as applicable to the employer's stated policy.

Work Schedule and On-Call Requirements

• Regular day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Weekend work may be required based on caseload; additional hours will be treated as overtime when applicable.
• On-call availability is required, with details to be discussed during the interview.
• Candidates must be comfortable traveling between assigned facilities and managing a mobile workload.
