About the Role:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping Kentucky’s little ones aged 0-3 gain independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. You will assess patients' physical abilities to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs. Your work will involve collaborating with the Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS) team members to support patients. Ultimately, your efforts will empower patients to perform daily activities more effectively and safely, promoting their overall well-being and community participation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Occupational Therapist license to practice in Kentucky.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and KEIS team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with pediatric populations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities to identify goals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based occupational therapy techniques.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients’ families on support and patient gaining independence.
• Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

Skills:

The required skills in occupational therapy are applied to assess and treat patients with diverse needs, ensuring comprehensive care. Knowledge of sensory integration techniques is essential for managing patients with sensory processing difficulties and enhancing their functional abilities. Collaboration and communication skills are vital for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and educating the patients’ families and/or caregivers.
