Internal Communications Manager

Role Overview Perplexity is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to build that function from the ground up. Responsibilities Own how information moves through Perplexity. Responsibility for what Perplexity employees think, feel, know, and do. Execute a 0-1 role with executive exposure from day one. Listen and learn across the company. Understand what's happening, how, and why to recommend which messages to amplify or address. Run all-hands and executive content: planning, execution, measurement, and evolution. Internal storytelling: turn strategy, launches, and hard decisions into messages that bring clarity to every team. Be the signal in the noise. Cut through Slack sprawl. Establish channels, cadences, and norms that keep a fast company informed without drowning it. Own change management. Deliver hard and easy news with equal clarity and candor. Earn trust for the message and the messenger. Protect the culture. Words set the tone. Ensure our messaging sounds like us as we grow. Measure what matters. Perplexity is a high-velocity, high-humility organization. Partner across the company; work with every team, brief executives directly, and earn standing as a truth-teller. Desired Qualities & Experience Comfort with executives who hold a strong vision; can advise, challenge, and make recommendations to senior leaders without flinching. World-class writing and editing; can ghostwrite for an executive, draft an all-hands, or defuse a sensitive announcement in any voice or format. Comfort using AI tools in your workflow and the ability to specify exactly where and how you use them. Sharp judgment under pressure; decide fast, say the hard thing kindly, and hold the line on quality on launch day. A builder, not a maintainer; have stood a function up, not just kept one running. A passion for the truth well-told. Proven change-management instincts; have delivered complex news to a whole company and kept trust intact. 6+ years in internal, executive, or corporate communications, ideally inside a high-growth technology company. Deep familiarity with the rules of corporate communications, and a clear point of view on which ones to break and when. #J-18808-Ljbffr
