JobDuties/ Responsibilities Plansaprogramofstudythatfollowsdistrictguidelinesand,asmuchaspossible,meetstheindividual needs, interests and abilities of students. Implementsresearched-basedteachingstrategiesthatengageallstudents;acknowledgingarangeof abilities of students and cultural backgrounds. Createsanenvironmentconducivetolearningandmotivatesstudentsthrougheffectivecommunication and evaluative feedback. Implementscurrentdistrictcurriculumandsubjectmatterthatisgradelevelappropriate. Plansforandguidesthelearning processtowardthemasteryof curriculumgoals, andestablishesclear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students. Implementsschoolimprovementplansandstrategies. Collaborateswithcolleagues,students,and/orparentsonaregularbasis,andasrequestedbythe administration. Implementsformativeandsummativeassessmentsofstudentprogresstodriveinstructionand communicates progress to students and parents. Setshighexpectationsforstudentachievementandbehaviorandmotivatesstudentstoworktotheir highest potential. Assistsinthereferralanddiagnosisof studentswithlearningdifficulties,seekingassistancefromother school personnel as required. Workscooperativelywithbuildingprincipaland/ordirectorinassessinghis/herteachingstrengthsand weaknesses, and planning and implementing a program to improve his/her teaching competencies. Participatesoncurriculum,personnel,policyorprofessionaldevelopmentcommitteesrelatedtothe educational program. Maintainsaccurate,complete,andcorrectrecordsasrequiredbylawanddistrictpolicy. Assistsadministrationinimplementingstudentdisciplinepoliciesandmaintainsorderinarea(s) assigned and/or supervised in a fair and just manner. Performsotherdutiesas assigned. Education Bachelor'sdegreeinrelatedsubjectfromaccrediteduniversity(Required). AppropriateIllinoisteachingcertificate(Required). Ignite positions only: Educational requirement for this position: The Center for Talent Development'sGiftedEducationBootCamp, mustbecompletedwithin thefirstyearofteachinganigniteposition.Thecourseincludesaminimumof15hoursofprofessionaldevelopmentactivities. Experience/ Knowledge KnowledgeoftheIllinoisLearningStandards(CCSS2014). KnowledgeofandabilitytoimplementtheRtIprocessandtieredinstructionandinterventions. Teachingexperienceispreferred,butnotnecessaryforhiring. Experienceinatleastoneofthegradelevelsofamulti-grade(Preferred). Recentexperienceinthesoughtposition(Preferred). Physical Demands Requiresprolongedsittingorstanding. Occasionallyrequiresphysicalexertiontomanuallymove,liftcarry,pull,orpushheavyobjectsor materials. Occasionalstooping,bending,andreaching.
