Sales Manager

Reporting to the President, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth for Traders Hill Farm and its branded product lines, including Zen Fresh. This is a hands-on, results-driven sales role focused on prospecting, developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and closing sales. The Sales Manager will build strong relationships with distributors, foodservice operators, retailers, institutions, healthcare organizations, and food manufacturers throughout Florida, Georgia, and the broader Southeast. The successful candidate will work independently, maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, and be accountable for clearly defined revenue, margin, activity, and account-development goals. Procurement and sourcing are managed by a separate team; this position is dedicated to sales. This position has three key areas of responsibility: 1.Account Growth & Customer Retention 3.New Business Development Support 1.Account Growth & Customer Retention a.Own and grow assigned customer relationships by identifying additional products, locations, programs, and seasonal opportunities. b.Conduct regular customer business reviews and maintain consistent communication with buyers and distributor sales teams. c.Deliver exceptional responsiveness and coordinate internally with customer care, operations, logistics, and procurement to meet customer commitments. d.Address customer concerns quickly and professionally, protecting long-term relationships and the reputation of Traders Hill Farm. e.Provide timely market intelligence regarding customer demand, buying patterns, competitor activity, pricing, and emerging opportunities. a.Meet or exceed established revenue, gross-margin, new-account, and sales-activity goals. b.Maintain a current CRM pipeline with documented contacts, opportunities, next steps, expected close dates, and projected revenue. c.Prepare accurate weekly activity reports, monthly sales forecasts, customer updates, and performance summaries for management. d.Represent Traders Hill Farm and Zen Fresh professionally at customer meetings, distributor events, trade shows, farm tours, and community or industry programs. 3.New Business Development Support (in conjunction & coordinated with President) a.Aggressively identify, qualify, pursue, and close new business within priority markets and sales channels. b.Develop new accounts through direct outreach, referrals, industry relationships, trade events, and disciplined follow-up. c.Build relationships with decision-makers across produce distribution, foodservice, retail, K-12 and higher education, healthcare, and food processing or meal-preparation companies. d.Prepare persuasive proposals, presentations, samples, and pricing recommendations in coordination with management. e.Maintain current knowledge of Traders Hill Farm and Zen Fresh products, competitive offerings, customer requirements, and market trends. Required Skills & Knowledge Proven success in produce, perishables, foodservice, retail, or agricultural sales, with a demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals. Independent, highly motivated, assertive, competitive, and persistent. Must be comfortable initiating contact, asking for the business, overcoming objections, and closing sales. Strong business-development, account-management, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Working knowledge of fresh produce markets, distributor relationships, pricing, margins, food safety expectations, and the operational demands of perishable products. Highly organized and disciplined, with excellent time management, territory planning, follow-up, forecasting, and reporting habits. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, email, presentation software, and sales-data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, reliability, integrity, and a commitment to quality and customer service. Strong team coordination skills, both within the internal sales team and the operations departments Licensed driver with a clean driving record and reliable automobile; flexibility to travel throughout the Southeast and participate in occasional evening, weekend, or overnight events.
