Quality Assurance Technician

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
Employment Type: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Industry: Food Manufacturing

Pay: $22.00 / Hour

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician supports food safety, quality, and GMP compliance within a growing food manufacturing operation. This is primarily a production-floor position , with responsibility for monitoring one production line and one blender . The technician will perform line inspections, verify product and process requirements, maintain quality documentation, and assist with environmental monitoring and swabbing as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor quality and food safety activities for an assigned production line and blender .
• Conduct routine line audits and quality inspections according to product specifications and food safety requirements.
• Verify compliance with GMPs, SOPs, quality programs, and company policies .
• Perform required Critical Control Point (CCP) and food safety checks.
• Review and complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Assist with GMP audits and verify production areas are ready following sanitation activities.
• Support the facility's Environmental Monitoring Program , including performing swabbing when required.
• Identify quality discrepancies, GMP violations, or food safety concerns and communicate findings to supervisors and Quality Management.
• Support internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits and inspections by retrieving documentation, records, and other requested information.
• Work with production employees to reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety requirements .
• Assist with laboratory-related quality activities as needed.
• Perform additional Quality Assurance duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following:

• At least 12 months of QA/QC experience in a GMP-regulated environment , such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical device, chemical, or similar manufacturing; OR
• At least 12 months of food manufacturing experience with hands-on responsibility for production, quality, or compliance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous food manufacturing Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience .
• Experience with CCPs, GMPs, line inspections, environmental monitoring, or swabbing .
• Familiarity with FDA, USDA, or other food safety requirements.
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining quality documentation.
• Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily on the manufacturing floor , with occasional work in a laboratory environment. Employees should be comfortable standing for approximately 90% of the shift and walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and twisting throughout the day. Occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds may be required. Required PPE must be worn in designated production areas.
