Director, Demand Generation

Job Description
The Director, Demand Generation is a strategic and execution-focused marketing leader responsible for driving growth, brand affinity, and customer demand for BCBSNC products and services. This role leads the development and activation of integrated, omni-channel marketing strategies that align business goals, customer insights, and budget to measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and builds high-performing teams through coaching and hands‑on leadership.

What Youll Do

Lead demand generation strategy, planning, and execution, including budget allocation, channel mix, and performance measurement aligned to business objectives

Develop and execute integrated, omni-channel campaigns (digital, direct response, CRM, and email) that drive pipeline growth and customer engagement

Partner across business functions to identify growth opportunities and translate customer and market insights into actionable marketing strategies

Leverage data, research, and customer intelligence to inform targeting, messaging, and channel optimization decisions

Build and optimize media strategies that improve brand affinity and drive measurable demand outcomes

Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, direction, and clear expectations to elevate team capability and performance

Operate with strong ownership and accountability, proactively driving initiatives from concept through execution and results

What You Bring

Bachelors degree (or advanced degree where required)

8+ years of experience in marketing, demand generation, or a related field

In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant professional experience

Bonus Points

Prior experience within the healthcare or payer industry is strongly preferred

Ability to influence go‑to‑market strategy and positioning through deep understanding of customer segments and behaviors

Where Youll Work
Our Hybrid Flex approach is built on presence with a purpose – giving you flexibility to work remotely with intentional in‑person connection that supports a workplace that is flexible, connected, and future focused. In a Hybrid‑Flex role, youll work in the office at least two days a week for collaboration and connection. In a Remote‑Flex role, youll work virtually, with a few in‑office visits each year for meaningful moments that matter. Whether your role is Hybrid Flex or Remote Flex depends on the nature of the work and distance from our Durham headquarters. Salary Range
$157,978.00 – $252,765.00

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
