Learn more at  Position SummaryAeon is seeking a general maintenance professional to join the maintenance team at The Minneapolis 220, a 220-unit, scattered site community in Minneapolis and Edina.  The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property and ensuring Aeon's standards are met across preventative maintenance, safety, property appearance, and overall building operations. This role supports the day-to-day upkeep of the community and helps ensure residents live in a safe, well-maintained environment. Responsibilities include completing maintenance work orders, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with apartment turnovers, and supporting general building upkeep such as trash removal and chute maintenance. This position reports to the Property Manager, with the leadership from the Maintenance Supervisor. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete maintenance service requests by performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair tasks, including:Plumbing repairsElectrical repairsAppliance repair and maintenanceAir handler and general HVAC maintenanceLock changes and hardware replacementPreventative maintenanceApartment turnovers and preparation for new residentsInstallation and repair of doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building componentsProperty UpkeepMaintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property.Manage regular trash removal and trash chute maintenance.Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.Perform seasonal duties such as light snow removal and salting/sanding walkways. Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated experience in general apartment or building maintenance.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and vendors while respecting diverse needs and backgrounds.Commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.Resourceful, solutions-oriented, and committed to quality work.Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate as part of a team.Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance required.Must own basic maintenance tools. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull.Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property. The physical requirements described above represent the essential functions of the job and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.  Certifications/LicensesCandidates must currently have - or be able to obtain within the first six months of employment - the following certification:Special Boiler's LicenseAeon will support the Maintenance Technician in obtaining required certifications by covering training and licensing costs where applicable. Compensation, Hours & Location This position has a range of pay between $26-$30/hr depending on experience and skillset. In addition, Maintenance Technicians at Aeon have NO On-Call! This full-time position follows a Monday – Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5pm. Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the role, including occasional adjustments for resident events, community activities, meetings, or other property-related responsibilities.
