Embark on a rewarding special education opportunity for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year near Andover, MN. This contract position involves supporting students across several elementary schools, specializing in center-based and resource settings. Work closely with a dedicated team and make a profound difference in young learners’ lives.
Successful applicants will deliver tailored instruction and support and will have opportunities to utilize their expertise working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Cognitive Disorder (DCD), Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD), or as an Academic Behavior Strategist (ABS). Openings include various caseload configurations, including Center Based ASD/DCD, Center Based SEL, and Resource settings.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license at Tier 3 or Tier 4 in one or more: ASD, DCD, EBD, or ABS
- A minimum of 2 years of direct special education teaching experience (excluding general education, paraprofessional, or substitute experience)
- Endorsements required will vary by individual school placement; some require specific ASD or DCD, while others accept EBD or ABS
- Adept with IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized instruction based on student IEPs
- Create positive, structured classroom environments promoting growth and inclusion
- Document progress and actively participate in IEP and staff meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Utilize best practices in academic, social-emotional, or behavioral intervention
