Role Description The Head of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis, IN, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational activities across production, supply chain, warehousing, and fulfillment. This role will develop, implement & maintain operational strategies, optimize processes for efficiency and quality, and ensure timely, accurate order delivery to customers and partners. The Head of Operations will lead and coach cross-functional teams, set performance metrics, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Daily responsibilities include managing budgets and resource allocation, analyzing operational data, collaborating with leadership on forecasts and growth plans, and coordinating with vendors and service providers to support reliable operations. The role also involves building scalable systems, documenting procedures, and supporting the integration of new tools and printing technologies to enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Fulfillment (Domestic + International)

● Own end-to-end logistics from China to U.S. warehouses to customer

● Set and manage freight, LTL, and small parcel strategy for both bulk and DTC orders

● Optimize container loads, ship timing, and port selection to minimize cost and delays

● Oversee 3PL partnerships and ensure high service levels across retail, B2B, and DTC

● Lead NetSuite implementation and optimization for inventory, PO, and order flows

Forecasting & Inventory Management

● Build forecasting models across promo, wholesale, and DTC channels

● Analyze sell-through data to prevent overproduction and minimize deadstock

● Design inventory planning systems that support custom print timelines and stock rotation

● Identify and liquidate excess inventory in a brand-preserving way

Mass Retail Ops (EDI + Compliance)

● Lead EDI setup and execution with Walmart, Target, and other large retailers

● Ensure OTIF, ASN, routing guide, and chargeback compliance

● Act as internal lead for retail operations, documentation, and delivery execution

Warehouse & Custom Print Operations

● Manage day-to-day operations of our Indiana warehouse

● Determine ideal staffing levels, shift structures, and throughput expectations

● Optimize custom printing workflow from intake to delivery

● Streamline internal order routing (promo, retail, direct) to reduce lead times

Systems & Process Leadership

● Own full NetSuite workflows (inventory, POs, sales orders, fulfillment)

● Design workflows to support future marketplace expansion (TikTok, Amazon, etc.)

● Recommend operational tech/tools to streamline ops and reduce manual work

Offshore Customer Service Team

● Build and manage a remote customer service team

● Define SOPs for email response, product questions, and B2B order support

● Ensure high responsiveness, clear escalation paths, and brand-aligned tone

Qualifications

• Strong Operations Management skills, including process optimization, KPI development, and cross-functional coordination.
• Excellent Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and drive fact-based decision-making.
• Proven Team Management experience, including coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
• Experience in working with mass retail accounts (i.e. Walmart, Target, Amazon) and full EDI compliance.
• Experience in managing international freight, including LTL and small parcel shipping.
• Effective Communication abilities, both written and verbal, to engage stakeholders at all levels and support clear direction.
• Budgeting skills, including planning, financial tracking, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Experience in printing on consumer products, and distribution environments is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with operations and inventory management software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
