General Accountabilities

JOB DUTIES

·       Build rapport and establish a positive, supportive relationship with members through in-person interactions that instill hope, trust, and an optimistic perspective.

·       Inspire members to take an active role in their recovery by guiding them in making healthy choices and participating in beneficial activities.

·       Prepare and lead group sessions, steering discussions in a constructive manner that addresses relevant topics. 

·       Must lead large and small group activities. 

·       Assess the needs of the LEC program by collaborating with members and staff to identify necessary resources for effective program implementation.

·       Act as a liaison between members and various community organizations, collaborating on special projects when required.

·       Advocate for members to ensure they receive entitlement and appropriate services and supports.

·       Share personal recovery experiences with stakeholders, peers, and staff to illustrate that recovery is achievable. 

·       Advocate for members within the mental health and SUD landscape 

·        Partner with members to help them envision and pursue a meaningful, purposeful life

·       Engage in system advocacy on behalf of individuals with mental health diagnosis or addictions whenever opportunities arise.

·       Document services provided in accordance with agency protocols.

·       Write peer notes on a weekly basis on all members being serviced.

·       Always adhere to the Ohio Peer Support Code of Ethics.

·       Perform various additional duties as assigned.
