AVP System Employee Health Operations

Position Overview Department/Unit: Health Service. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Salary Range: $130,842.00 - $209,347.00. This position is responsible for leading the strategic development of the AMHS Employee Health Operations (EHO). It includes operational initiatives for each facility, development of a system‑wide electronic medical record system, standardized policies and procedures, and a system partnership with an emphasis on operational performance, quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Provide direction and oversight for system-wide Employee health functions. Develop, implement, and maintain a system-wide Employee Health and Occupational Medicine electronic medical record system, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and communication. Represent Employee health system-wide at the organizational level and support initiatives that provide financial, quality, and operational growth. Drive high reliability through standardization of onboarding and annual regulatory requirements. Strategically plan long‑range growth and program development at the system level by developing policies and procedures that coordinate with partner departments such as Infection Prevention, Safety, Medical Staff Office, and Human Resources. Oversee compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DNV, NYS DOH, FDA, NYS WCB) across all sites and coordinate preparation for onsite regulatory visits. Develop and manage a system‑wide approach to the Workers Compensation program. Support and lead a work climate that encourages innovation and growth across system units. Provide leadership, evaluation, and support for Employee health management at each campus. Develop and manage the annual budget to achieve financial parameters effectively and efficiently. Provide periodic progress reports on EHO performance to the Board of Governors, Cabinet, and other audiences. Perform other duties as assigned by System Senior Leadership. Qualifications Advanced degree in business or a healthcare‑related field (required). 8–10 years of relevant experience in occupational and employee health medicine (required). 5–7 years of management experience (required). Excellent communication, personal interaction, written and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to provide operational leadership and motivate staff. Ability to set direction and vision for major or multiple departments and establish priorities. Ability to address broad, complex, and abstract problems requiring creativity, resourcefulness, staff engagement, lean techniques, negotiation, and diplomacy. Ability to lead and direct multiple collaborative teams for large projects or groups internally and externally to the system and across functional areas. Current NYS license in an appropriate healthcare field (required). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
