Job Title: Apartment Maintenance Technician

Position Summary We are seeking a versatile and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting a premier multi-family housing provider. This role is responsible for the upkeep and repair of luxury residential properties, ensuring all units and common areas remain in top condition. As the face of the community to our residents, you must balance technical expertise with a high level of professional customer service and discretion.

Key Responsibilities   General Maintenance & Unit Turns

• Perform comprehensive repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, framing, and drywall hanging/mudding.
• Execute finish work such as cabinetry, finish carpentry, and painting to maintain property aesthetics.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with appliances and exterior maintenance as needed.
• Manage "make-ready" tasks to ensure vacant units are turned over efficiently for new move-ins.

Operations & Safety

• Maintain accurate daily logs of operations, maintenance requests, and safety inspections.
• Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools (drills, saws, augers, etc.).
• Identify and report safety hazards promptly, ensuring all work sites remain secure for residents and staff.
• Assist with demolition, concrete, and underground work as project requirements dictate.

Resident Relations & Support

• Respond to resident work orders with a high level of customer service and clear communication.
• Collaborate with site leadership and leasing teams to prioritize urgent repairs.
• Represent the organization professionally while working in occupied units and around the community.

Qualifications

• Experience: Proven background as a maintenance technician in apartment, multi-unit, or facility environments.
• Technical Skills: Multi-trade proficiency is highly valued—the more trades you have experience with (plumbing, electrical, carpentry), the better.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with various renters and team members.
• Reliability: A consistent track record of punctuality and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
• Customer Service: Must be comfortable in a high-touch service environment and dedicated to delivering quality results for residents.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and move equipment or materials up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and tight spaces (crawl spaces, utility closets).
