In 2013, CHRISTUS Health finalized an agreement partnering with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) to recruit, employ, and oversee physicians and advanced practice providers at CHRISTUS Children's.Baylor () is recognized as one of the nation’s premier academic health science centers and is known for excellence in education, research, and healthcare and community service. Located in the heart of the world's largest medical center (Texas Medical Center), Baylor is affiliated with multiple educational, healthcare and research affiliates (Baylor Affiliates).The Department of Pediatrics seeks an outstanding pediatric epileptologist physician to join our easy-going team at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent organizational and leadership qualities. They will participate in educational & research programs and help represent the division in the community and nationally. Preference given to those with experience in epilepsy surgery or a willingness to learn. We have established a multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment program for children with epilepsy (including ketogenic diet programs), multidisciplinary autism program, and international neuromuscular program. We are especially looking for special interests in growing our Epilepsy Programs, Neurocutaneous clinics, and more, but open to any good candidate with any interest and good skills.Division SummaryThe division consists of eight board-certified pediatric neurologists (three of these Epileptology; three of these neurodevelopmental) and four full-time APPs (2 of which are primarily on inpatient service support). The division currently has active programs in epilepsy (6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit), neurodevelopmental, ketogenic diet, neuromuscular disorders, neurogenetics, and a Pediatric Rehab/PM&R inpatient unit.Job DutiesPrimary responsibilities include outpatient clinics and shared inpatient rotations with call, trainee education and clinical research. The Voelcker Clinical Research Center provides support for faculty involved with research.Minimum QualificationsQualified applicants must have an MD, DO or MD/PhD degree, be BE/BC in Pediatric Neurology and Neurophysiology or Epilepsy. Have or will obtain a Texas medical license.
