Custodian PositionMason Preparatory School is an independent Pre K-8th school dedicated to educating the whole child through strong relationships, academic excellence, and an engaging, student-centered learning environment. We are looking for a custodian who will take pride in keeping our building beautiful, clean, and comfortable for students, staff, and visitors.Position Details: Title: Custodian Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Reports to: Head of School Schedule: Full-Time; Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm Summer Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 2:00 pmQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to perform basic math calculationsKnowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures, and occupational hazards safety rulesBackground in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicalsAbility to walk, move, and perform repetitive motions for long periodsAbility to lift heavy objects, and climb laddersExperience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDuties and Responsibilities Under the Direct Supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Custodian Will:Keep the building and grounds clean and in an orderly conditionPerform routine maintenance across building and groundsPerform heavy cleaning dutiesSweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floorsGather and empty trashScrub, sanitize, and supply restroomsDust furniture, walls, and equipmentClean and polish windows, mirrors, and partitions with cleaning agentsMix cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructionsFollow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixturesNotify the Director of Facilities regarding repairs or additions to building operating systems
