The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage patients with various diagnoses in a fast-paced, acute care setting. Unit Information Bed Capacity: 29 Private Rooms Nurse Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse Common Diagnoses: Renal issues, Gastrointestinal disorders, Sepsis, Mental Health concerns Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EKG competency Responsibilities Manage patient care within scope of practice, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed. Interpreting EKG strips and monitoring cardiac rhythms. Operating under the guidance of charge nurses and house supervisors. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license. Experience in cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation. Demonstrated ability in groin management and administration of breathing treatments. Work Environment Shifts: 0700-1930, 1900-0730 with self-scheduling options. Weekend Requirements: A minimum of 3 weekend shifts per schedule period. Holiday Requirements: Required to participate in holiday rotations for major holidays. Floating Requirements Floats will typically occur within service lines, and staff will not float to units outside their skillset. Travelers may float to support staffing needs but are primarily assigned to their home unit. Dress Code & Orientation Scrub Color: Navy Blue Scrubs; no T-shirts and closed-toe shoes required. Orientation: 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor to ensure a smooth transition into the role. Additional Information Remote Monitor Technicians are available; however, RNs are required to interpret cardiac rhythms. Respiratory Therapy support available 24/7 for patient needs. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer and a simulation lab competency on the first day of orientation.
