POSITION PURPOSE

The QC Inspector is responsible for testing concrete materials, plastic concrete, concrete strength specimens, reading shop cards, conducting pre‑pour and post‑pour inspections, running lab equipment, and hydraulic stress jacks and maintaining accurate records.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with all levels of management in sample submittals, drawing requirements, and product requirements to maintain and improve quality Maintain compliance with MPC Quality Assurance program Keep all required QC records up to date and accurate Break cylinders and record data Conduct inspections and assess quality of the product in the plant Assist production management as needed Train and supervise others Any other duties as assigned Check paperwork and shop tickets to assure they are organized properly Shop mark finished product with cast date, mark number and job number Check for complete accuracy of finished product in accordance with job plans Assign and place appropriate PCI dot code on product as needed Conduct concrete strength tests Run or use all quality control equipment Perform simple low voltage electronic wiring for test equipment Maintain a clean and safe working environment Work as part of a team Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policies

CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Knowledge of commercial architectural precast products Ability to read blueprints, plans, and pick lists Alpha reading with a tape measure to 1/16 Self‑motivated Basic reading, writing, and math skills

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred PCI Level II and ACI Level I Certifications Minimum of 3 years in the prestressed/precast industry or comparable experience Forklift experience preferred Previous construction experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE

Monday‑Friday Schedule varies with workload and location Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on business needs Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions
