As a Lawn & Ornamental (L&O) Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the health and beauty of commercial landscapes, applying your expertise in plant care and attention to detail to deliver superior service to clients. Responsibilities Apply pesticides and fertilizers to turf and ornamental beds using specialized equipment such as Z-Sprayers, manual spreaders, and spray trucks. Diagnose and identify common insects, diseases, and weeds, and determine appropriate treatment solutions. Mix and handle chemicals accurately, ensuring proper rates and safe practices to prevent cross-contamination. Calibrate and maintain equipment for precise application and consistent quality. Maintain clean and safe work areas by blowing and cleaning treated surfaces to prevent staining. Complete accurate documentation of work performed, including times, products used, rates, and inventory. Perform routine vehicle inspections and follow all safety protocols during daily operations. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to achieve route goals and uphold company standards. Qualifications Experience identifying local plant species and understanding how environmental factors affect chemical applications. BMP Certification and Basic Technician Training required. Limited commercial fertilizer applicator license required. Valid driver’s license. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
