This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient arrival and departure experience while supporting the overall success of the hotel.The Front Desk Attendant serves as a primary point of contact for guests throughout their stay. This role is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and efficient service during check-in, check-out, reservations, guest requests, and daily front office operations.The ideal candidate is service-driven, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining Aloft's commitment to approachable, engaging guest experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome and acknowledge guests with a warm, professional, and genuine hospitality approach.Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.Respond to guest requests, concerns, and inquiries promptly and professionally.Answer internal and external phone calls and provide appropriate assistance or routing.Process reservations, modifications, and guest inquiries through hotel systems.Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and area information.Communicate guest needs and concerns to appropriate departments to ensure timely resolution.Assist with guest recovery efforts and escalate issues when needed.Run daily shift reports and complete required front office procedures.Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate financial records.Execute end-of-day and closing procedures according to hotel standards.Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.Support other hotel departments with guest needs and operational requests.Promote Marriott service standards and contribute to a positive guest experience.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Professional appearance and demeanor.Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.Basic computer proficiency.PreferredPrevious hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience.Experience with Marriott systems including Lightspeed, FOSSE, or similar property management systems.Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Previous experience handling cash transactions.Schedule RequirementsMust be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as business needs require.Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Minimum availability of 16 hours per week required for part-time associates.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and voluntary benefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)401(k) retirement planMarriott Associate Room Rate ProgramEmployee recognition programsCareer growth and development opportunitiesAloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all associates are valued and respected.
