HVAC Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Austin, Texas . Overview This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems across multiple facilities. It requires troubleshooting, repair, and ensuring energy-efficient and safe operation of equipment in various sites near Austin. Responsibilities Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities. Perform inspections and repairs to interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting. Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on facility systems and equipment. Study and familiarize yourself with equipment and proper usage methods. Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations and occupancy. Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order statuses in real time. Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed. Drive vans to various sites daily, mostly within 30-45 minutes from downtown Austin. Perform call-in work as required and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with a focus on HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance. Universal CFC recovery certification required. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems. Valid state driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems. Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel. Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC. We thank all applicants for their interest.
