Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics

The Department of Physics at Lafayette College invites applications for an 18-month Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning in January, 2027.

We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate should be able to teach physics effectively in classroom and laboratory environments. Candidates will teach the equivalent of three courses per semester, with a laboratory section counting as half a course. Located in the Lehigh Valley in eastern Pennsylvania, 70 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia, Lafayette College is a small, private, undergraduate-only liberal arts and engineering institution with significant resources to support faculty members in their teaching and scholarship. Qualifications

A completed Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is preferred, but candidates near the end of their Ph.D. work will be considered.
