Director of Manufacturing

A leading global electronics manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead a large-scale manufacturing operation in Richardson, TX.

This role will oversee multiple production lines and customer programs within an approximately 800,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The environment focuses on complex electronic manufacturing, manual assembly, and large-scale production, ideally supporting data-center infrastructure and server-rack manufacturing.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced manufacturing professional with a background in electronic manufacturing services (EMS) or contract manufacturing. The successful candidate will oversee multiple department managers, drive production performance, manage substantial operating budgets, and maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor, particularly as the facility continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations across multiple production lines, customer programs, and departments, ensuring production efficiency, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.
• Oversee approximately four direct-report managers and 50–100 indirect employees, providing leadership, direction, and development.
• Maintain a hands-on presence on the production floor, driving improvements across manual assembly, manufacturing processes, labor utilization, and production output.
• Manage significant operational budgets and P&L responsibilities while establishing manufacturing KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to support production ramp-ups, new product introductions, and ongoing operational expansion.

Qualifications

• 11–14+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations leadership experience.
• Required background in electronic manufacturing, preferably within an EMS or contract manufacturing environment.
• Ideally experienced in data-center infrastructure, server racks, rack integration, or complex electronic assemblies.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple production departments, subordinate managers, and large manufacturing teams.
• Experience managing substantial operating budgets, ideally in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
• Strong background in manual assembly, production floor management, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

• Annual Bonus: 25%
• Potential additional RSU/sign-on equity compensation, approximately $15,000–$30,000 annually, subject to negotiation and vesting terms.
