Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 Hours per Week | 12-Hour Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients across an assigned shift in an emergency department setting
• Prescribe and deliver nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care, incorporating input from patients and significant others
• Provide triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary health care team members to coordinate patient care delivery
• Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
• Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS, HS-BLS, or RQI BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS, HS-ACLS, or RQI ACLS) certification required at time of hire
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required at time of hire
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 1 year of hire
• Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation within 6 months of hire; EPIC experience within the last 12 months and recent Cerner experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Acute care facility experience
• MICN (Mobile Intensive Care Nurse) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certifications
