Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown

Registered Nurse Step-Down Unit

Shift: Days - 3 x 12 hour shifts per week, with weekend requirements of every other weekend.

Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Travel experience required.
• Trauma Level II experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Experience with vasoactive titration, sedation/insulin drips, arterial line care, and tracheostomy/vent care.
• Experience charting with Epic preferred.
• Ability to manage high-acuity step-down patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care for step-down patients.
• Administer medications and perform treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care processes.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic health record.

Compliance / Notes

Parking is free. Flu vaccine required with exceptions for medical/religious reasons. Max 7 days RTO allowed, with no RTO during the first week. All RTO must be finalized at the time of submission.
