Manufacturing Production Supervisor I

Roles & Responsibilities

Production Oversight

• Ensure GMP compliance across all production processes
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards

Staff Supervision

• Lead, supervise, and support production associates
• Compose and deliver performance evaluations, corrective action notices, and constructive feedback

Quality Control

• Train and monitor quality control standards
• Address and rectify product quality issues

Inventory Management

• Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory
• Coordinate with supply chain to optimize stock levels

Process Optimization

• Identify process improvement opportunities and propose scalable solutions
• Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Safety Compliance

• Enforce and promote safety protocols
• Conduct regular safety training for production personnel

Communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (quality, logistics, maintenance)
• Relay information accurately and effectively to ensure smooth operations

Training and Development

• Train new production associates and provide ongoing skills development

Problem Resolution

• Address and resolve production issues promptly; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP)
• Stay current with industry regulations and update procedures accordingly

Equipment Maintenance

• Coordinate maintenance schedules; address equipment issues to minimize downtime

Documentation

• Maintain accurate production records and generate management reports on production metrics

Experience Required

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a food production environment (food manufacturing experience required)
• 1+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
• Dairy experience strongly preferred

Skills & Certifications

• Production supervision and team leadership
• Food production and food manufacturing expertise
• Lean Manufacturing principles
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to direct a diverse, unionized workforce

Eligibilities & qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; degree preferred
• Strong leadership background with ability to manage and develop associates
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
