This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role will be hybrid based out of our Huntsville, AL office.General Accounting & ReportingPrepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliationsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportingProduce budget vs. actual variance reportingSupport internal and external auditsParticipate in SOX Section 404 compliance activitiesAccounts Receivable & Bad DebtCalculate and review monthly bad debt reservesMaintain AR aging reports and related OneStream reportingInventory & Cost AccountingPerform monthly inventory reconciliations and journal entriesReview purchase order commitment reportingManage inventory-related intercompany transactionsFixed Assets & CapitalAdminister fixed asset accounting and recordsAssist with annual fixed asset auditsMaintain capital expenditure tracking and reportingLeases & FacilitiesReview facility lease charges, including CAM and miscellaneous expensesManage CoStar system entries and related journal postingsIntercompany AccountingReconcile IDEX intercompany accounts monthlyPrepare intercompany invoices (U.S. to Canada)Tax & CompliancePrepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returnsAssist with property tax filingsCross-Functional SupportServe as backup for payroll and accounts payable processingProvide coverage for Canada Staff Accountant as neededParticipate in system upgrades, testing, and process improvementsComplete ad hoc analysis and reporting projectsRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of GAAP and SOX complianceExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsProficiency working in automated accounting systemsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required2 or more years of relevant accounting experience requiredExperience in a GAAP and SOX-controlled environment preferredExperience with Costpoint or similar ERP systems desiredTechnical SkillsAdvanced Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) requiredExperience with reporting tools such as Cognos or Access preferredAre you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world?IDEX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
