Shift Lead Responsibilities

The Shift Lead is responsible for leading the restaurant during assigned shifts and ensuring daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and according to company standards. This role supports management, guides team members, and helps deliver excellent guest service while maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and speed of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the restaurant during assigned shifts
• Supervise team members and delegate tasks effectively
• Ensure friendly guest service and resolve customer concerns promptly
• Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, and overall shift performance
• Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper portioning standards
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Complete opening, shift change, and closing procedures
• Count drawers, manage cash handling, and complete deposits when assigned
• Monitor labor during shifts and make staffing adjustments as needed
• Ensure prep levels and product availability are maintained
• Check in deliveries and verify product orders when needed
• Coach employees and provide on the spot training
• Enforce company policies, dress code, and attendance standards
• Complete shift paperwork, logs, and daily checklists
• Communicate shift issues and updates to management

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or leadership experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic math and cash handling skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lead by example and remain calm under pressure
