Registered Nurse - MedSurg Unit

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with 12-hour day shifts, including weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg unit team. The MedSurg unit consists of 52 private rooms and serves a variety of post-operative and medical patients. This role includes a full patient assignment along with responsibilities for monitoring and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with various medical diagnoses, including ortho and neuro post-ops.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Manage patient medications and IV therapy, with assistance from an in-house IV team.
• Participate in general hospital orientation and complete unit-specific training.
• Support observation protocols for potential COVID-19 cases and ensure appropriate patient transfer if necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license and the ability to provide it upon request.
• BLS certification required and NIHSS certification required.
• ACLS certification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis preferred.
