- # Tamashek Linguist Translator, Transcriber, InterpreterFairfax, Virginia, United States of AmericaJob Title: Tamashek Linguist Translator, Transcriber, InterpreterJob Category: Language ServicesTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with PolygraphEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 25%Type of Travel: Outside Continental US\* \* \***The Opportunity:** CACI is seeking TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidates for Tamashek language professionals to join our prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA.This is a TRAVEL ONLY ROLE. You will be deployed for 4 to 8 weeks' at a time and back for 4 to 8 week's.**Responsibilities**:* Accurately translate report/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that not only contain facts, but also some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances* Ability to capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text**Interpretation:*** Able to interpret accurately. The ability to consecutive interpretation is needed, but on rare occasions simultaneous interpretation maybe required. Has a good understanding of one of more regional dialects.**Transcription:*** Review audio or internet materials, transcribes with high degree of accuracy and expression. Candidate needs to posses excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.**Additional skills:*** Ability to identify and accurately summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts Web.* Must posses computer skills: including MS Office, to be able to produce written translations and products sufficient internet skills that will allow basic research on the Web* Excellent English-language skills verbal communication skills to present briefings**Qualifications*** Be a US Citizen* Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph* Ability to pass an advanced English test* Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test* Ability to deploy - active passport - this is a TRAVEL ONLY ROLE* Minimum five (5) years’ professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation* In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas* Master use of MS Office and internet research**Desired Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s Degree* Previous military experience* Has good understanding of one or more regional dialects* Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilitiesThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available.
