Front Desk Receptionist - Wilmington, NCAtlantic Dermatology is hiring a full-time Front Desk Receptionist for our Wilmington, NC office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, managing front office responsibilities, and helping create a welcoming, organized experience in a busy outpatient setting. As a key member of the front desk team, you'll support patient scheduling, check-in/check-out, patient communication, insurance-related front office tasks, and daily office flow.Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-time | 40 hours per weekResponsibilitiesThis is a great opportunity to join a collaborative dermatology practice and play an important role in the patient experience. Our front desk team helps keep the office running smoothly by providing excellent customer service, supporting administrative workflows, and ensuring patients feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrive.What You'll DoGreet patients in a friendly, professional, and welcoming mannerComplete patient check-in and check-outSchedule appointments and assist with referralsAnswer incoming calls, take accurate messages, and direct calls appropriatelyEnter and update patient demographics, insurance, and other registration informationReview patient charts for completeness, accuracy, and required signaturesCollect copays, balances, and other patient paymentsTrack patient flow in the reception area and communicate with patients as neededAssist with billing- and insurance-related front office tasksMaintain patient records, incoming correspondence, and other administrative documentationHelp manage office supply and product inventory as neededRun end-of-day reports and balance payment totals when closingOther duties assigned as deemed necessary by managementQualificationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required1+ year of experience in a medical office, front desk, patient access, or medical receptionist role preferredPrior dermatology experience is a plusExperience working in a fast-paced outpatient or specialty practice preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask and stay organized in a busy medical office environmentWorking knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standardsExperience answering multi-line phones and managing appointment schedulingComfortable collecting patient payments and handling front office administrative tasksIntermediate computer skills, including EMR/practice management systemsStrong attention to detail and time management skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as neededPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing, walking, stooping, and reachingManual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, keyboard, phone, copier, and other office equipmentAbility to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as neededLicensure/Certifications/EducationFull time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision insurance – effective 1st of the month after date of startShort-term and long-term disability, Voluntary life (employee, spouse, and child), Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity – Effective the 1st of the month following date of hireCompany provided Basic Life/AD&D insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement Savings accountEmployee discount on cosmetic services and products
