Supplier Development Engineer (Remote)

The Supplier Development Engineer will support supplier development activities that ensure a continuous flow of quality part supply. What will your duties and responsibilities be? The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.

• Identify and evaluate strategic suppliers and execute continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles to enhance performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery and total cost of ownership
• Influence new product designs and supply chain processes to meet quality, delivery and cost targets
• Mitigate risks from supplier product or process change requests
• Perform supply base quality systems, process, capability and capacity audits
• Review suppliers manufacturing capabilities
• Review new product designs and identify manufacturing concerns and communicate these to design using a data driven approach
• Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure parts are manufacturable, initiate engineering drawing changes as appropriate
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed

What skills and experience will you need? The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position. Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

• 5+ years' relevant experience
• Technical background, with ability to read/interpret engineering drawings
• Prior Supplier Development experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytic and problem-solving ability
• Good Communication skills

What qualifications are preferred? The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above. Education/Certifications:

• APICs or similar industry certification
• Six Sigma Black Belt
• Formal LEAN certification

Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

• Prior medical device experience
• Project management experience
• Oracle R12 experience

The anticipated salary for this position is $102,638 to $113,379 per year, plus bonus, and benefits.
