Production Associate (Cylinder Handler)

Production Associate (Cylinder Handler) Location: Oakwood Village, OH – Filling industrial Responsibilities Loads and unloads gas cylinders onto and off route trucks and trailers with proper carts. Sorts empty cylinders by type. Rolls cylinders and operates a forklift truck for movement on pallets. Interprets cylinder labels and colour‑coding to understand hazards. Accurately labels cylinders. Handles high‑pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders, preparing them for filling. Attaches cylinders to manifolds and evacuates cylinders to eliminate contaminants. Performs basic cylinder maintenance (painting, labeling, cleaning of work area). Inspects cylinders prior to filling per required standards. Conducts safety checks (odor tests, caps, valves). Fills cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards. Verifies cylinder quantities and product; assists with inventory. Manages paperwork complying with DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required. Maintains neat, clean, orderly plant appearance. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets. Ability to safely operate a forklift. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages). Physical ability to lift/move up to 60 lbs; move up to 800 lbs with equipment. Physical fitness to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, etc. according to job demands. Ability to hear and smell leaking gas. Availability for indoor & outdoor work in a range of temperatures and conditions. Preferred: Minimum one year of prior experience in a manufacturing operation, filling or loading operation. Experience in gas, welding, safety supply, or chemical industry. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills.
