Physician Assistant - Urology Profession: Physician Specialty: Urology Duration: Ongoing Shift: 7a-7a Hours per Shift: 24 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Board certification required Certifications: BLS preferred Description: The site is looking for coverage for ongoing opportunities. Call coverage involves 24-hour shifts. Response time to be onsite is within 20 minutes. Typically, there are 2-4 calls per night, with 1-2 expected onsite call-ins. Patients per shift are approximately 1-5. When on call, physicians should only be onsite during call-back hours while providing direct care. Physicians are required to provide supporting notes on their timesheet entries to verify call-back hours. Documentation is needed on the timesheet for specific reasons related to call-backs. Telephone call and medical record reviews should not be considered onsite call-backs. Average onsite call-back hours expected are 2-4 hours per day. Rounding must be done on new admissions and any inpatient who needs to be rounded on. Common hospital procedures include the management of kidney stones and hematuria. Consults on stents and catheter placements may be required. Fellowship training is preferred. Advanced endoscopic techniques and robotic surgeries are not required but laparoscopic surgeries are preferred. This is a Level 2 trauma facility. Specialty skills required include general urology and ureteroscopy. Physicians should also be comfortable performing nephrectomies. Pediatric procedures are not required.
