Description: Teacher Assistant -ELA Title 1 funds available to support positions. Teacher assistants will provide targeted academic interventions in English at freshmen and sophomre levels. The assistant will work specifically with teachers of freshman and English classes to support instruction, primarily in small groups outside of the classroom setting. They will monitor student progress on common unit assessments and retakes and will provide regular reports on this progress to identified staff members.
Qualifications:
NCLB/Paraprofessional Approval. Strong English background, with ability to facilitate re-teaching and both small-group and individualized academic interventions. Ability to assist teachers with instruction of small groups of students in various English lessons. Ability to relate effectively with and supervise students. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a teaching team to analyze data from common unit assessments and address targeted areas of academic remediation. Ability to communicate with parents. Ability to maintain accurate records related to use of time, student progress, and communication with various staff members. Ability to utilize student information systems and computer programs for the purpose of generating and organizing a variety of report on student progress. Application Procedure:
