Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Crewleader. The Warehouse Crew Leader is responsible for operating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and maintaining labeling and production equipment within the warehouse. This role provides day-to-day leadership and support to warehouse employees to maintain production, safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

The Warehouse Crew Leader works closely with warehouse supervisors, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to minimize downtime, maintain equipment performance, and support employee training and development. This role also assists with troubleshooting equipment issues, assigning work, and maintaining accurate documentation..

Accountabilities:

Equipment Operation and Troubleshooting

• Operate labeling and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Safely perform a variety of skilled maintenance work and troubleshooting to maintain the various labeling and warehouse operations equipment; ensure equipment efficiency standards are met. 
• Support maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment to minimize downtime.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, startups, and production support activities.
• Maintain equipment readiness and communicate repair needs promptly. 

Employee Leadership and Training

• Train and guide employees on warehouse equipment, production processes, safety requirements, and work expectations.
• Support employee development and reinforce productivity, safety, and quality expectations.
• Assist with day-to-day direction from supervisors to support warehouse employees.
• Maintain accurate records and maintenance activities. 
• Supports and facilitates the implementation of the facility's Continuous Improvement (C.I.) initiatives.

Safety, Food Safety, and Quality

• Follow all company safety, GMP, food safety, and quality requirements.
• Separate held or restricted product properly.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the department.
• Support compliance with lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, and fall protection requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and quality concerns promptly. 

Minimum Skills Required:

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
• Good communication and math skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to bend, twist, pivot, reach, crawl, kneel, squat, and work in awkward positions.
• Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to maintain accurate and legible records.
• Post-high school mechanical training or related technical education.
• Welding and torch cutting experience.
• Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Computer experience.
• Previous warehouse, maintenance, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
• Experience leading or training employees.
• Equivalent combinations of education, mechanical experience, warehouse experience, maintenance experience, and leadership experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
