Main Responsibilities Set up mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical test equipment such as Powertrain Dynamometers in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, or test procedures. Set up and test electrical harnesses and/or components in accordance with customer specifications. Ensure fixtures for the parts, measurements, and pictures are appropriate and validated to confirm function and fit. Monitor machine‑controlled test equipment to ensure the test is performing as expected, documenting any unexpected activity. Ensure test results are complete and accurate, with no re‑work required. Inspect or test parts to determine the nature or cause of defects or malfunctions. Document and report all defects or malfunctions so appropriate decisions can be made by customers/engineers. Document test results using cameras, spreadsheets, documents, or other tools. Prepare test parts, including digital caliper measurements and/or digital scales for weighing sample parts provided by the customer. Lab maintenance / post-test breakdown: physically remove test items, keep equipment clean, maintain calibrated instruments, and organize supplies. Operate independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments, acting as a facilitator. Consistently work on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Engage in regular interaction with customers. Develop or assist in building lab test fixtures. Assist other departments as needed for setups and teardowns of various test equipment. Ensure work is performed safely by using all available safety equipment. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum job requirements. Qualifications Associate of Science in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory or equivalent related work experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Completed coursework in digital electronics, circuit functions, and basic electronics preferred. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics preferred. Basic knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulic system controls preferred. Basic PLC skills and knowledge of Allen Bradley drives, Unico drive systems. Proven experience using a lathe machine and/or Bridgeport for fabrication and/or milling. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, speak, read, and hear in English. Ability to see with corrective lenses. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and use manual dexterity. Ability to use a computer. Able to work overtime, evenings, and/or weekends as required. Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
