Vernon, IN (Evansville region) Division: TMI Fabricators Direct Report: Shop Supervisor Hourly Range: $18+ Job Summary:As a Welder/ Fitter, you are responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment. The ideal candidate can interpret technical drawings and blueprints, inspect welds for structural integrity, and work safely in potentially hazardous environments.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferredValid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)Prior forklift operation or general labor experience preferredModerate understanding of general fabrication or warehouse processesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyStrong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliabilityEffective communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to follow directions and ask questions when unsureKey Responsibilities:Joins, fabricates and repairs metal and other weldable materials using MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding methodsOperates various welding devices and fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, and plasma cuttersInterprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams and schematics to determine layout, welding technique, and material requirementsFits and assembles metal parts with precision using measuring instruments such as calipers, squares, and tape measuresInspects completed welds to ensure structural soundness, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specificationsPerforms grinding, cutting, and finishing tasks to complete fabrication processesFollows all safety protocols and procedures for working in hazardous environments, including PPE usage and proper ventilationWorks closely with supervisors and team members to meet quality standards and project timelinesMaintains a clean, organized, and safe work area
