Controller

ROTHA Contracting Company is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting and financial functions for the company. This hands‑on role oversees day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, job costing, payroll, cash flow, and compliance while serving as the primary financial resource. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, manage the month-end and year-end close process, and provide financial reporting to ownership. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance to support company operations and long-term planning. Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and overall financial performance. Construction Accounting Manage job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, project billings, and retainage to ensure accurate project financial reporting. Monitor project costs and profitability, working with project managers and ownership to identify variances and financial risks. Support contract administration, revenue recognition, and financial reporting for public and private construction projects. Accounting & Compliance Perform all accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and account analysis. Ensure compliance with tax reporting, certified payroll, union requirements, audits, and applicable federal, state, and contractual regulations. Maintain accurate financial records, implement internal controls, and coordinate with external auditors, banks, insurance providers, and tax professionals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Certified Public Accountant preferred Ten or more years of progressive accounting experience Construction accounting experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software such as ComputerEase, with the ability to independently manage all accounting functions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
