MIG Welder – Niles PlantsReports to: Shift SupervisorFLSA Status: NON-EXEMPTBase Pay: $27.00/hr 1st shift, $27.00/hr +$3.00 off shift premium equivalent to $30.00/hr for 2nd shiftSchedule: Monday through Thursday (4:00a to 2:00p or 2:00p – 12:00a); extended hours may be required to support business needsJob Summary:Employees perform all welding and related tasks involved in the production support processes at Modineer Company. This position may only involve welding up to 75% of the time. Job duties also include design and fabrication of specialized part hanging racks. Daily duties include set-up and operation of fixtures, grinders, and other machines. Various other related duties may be assigned. Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.Primary duties and responsibilities:Read and understand work instructionsLoad and unload partsChange weld tips, nozzles, and maintain equipment.Wear appropriate PPEPerform product quality checks in accordance with work instructionsDesign efficient hanging solutions per company specificationsUse small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to partsRead and understand measurement devicesAssemble loose parts into a jig fixtureWeld per print specificationsHandle/lift/push/pull up to fifty (50) lbs. (wire spools / parts) on a repetitive basisEducation, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:Must be able to use small hand tools, grinders, sanders, etc.Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.Must be able to pass written and practical weld evaluationsMust pass an eye exam (with or without corrective lenses)Physical environment/working conditions:The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the dayOther:Must be able to work as part of a team.
