Portfolio Relationship Manager

This portfolio relationship manager will elevate strategic growth and deepen GHD’s influence across a defined portfolio of priority clients. The role leads the charge in building trusted, long‑term partnerships by anticipating client needs and connecting them with the full breadth of GHD’s technical and advisory capabilities.
Who are we looking for?
A seasoned professional who can lead strategic planning for a defined client portfolio, identify growth opportunities and coordinate with technical teams, market leaders, and project managers to translate client needs into actionable strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex existing customer accounts to identify and build relationships with decision makers and ensure two‑way flow of information.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the CRM system within the area of responsibility, identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop relationship management plan for strategic, complex potential accounts and coordinate the engagement of own organization with the customer organization.
- Consult with customer representatives at different levels to identify the outcomes they require, facilitate internal specialists to gather and analyze complex customer data, and clarify medium‑to‑long‑term customer needs.
- Develop a personal network of senior managers within the business sector, represent the organization at events, obtain market intelligence and promote the organization’s reputation.
- Lead cross‑functional internal teams to configure a complex tailored or bespoke product‑and‑services solution and associated contractual terms that meet the customer’s mid‑to‑long‑term needs, negotiate agreement, and review/authorise complex sales proposals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10–20 years of project experience in the environmental market, including coordination and management of projects.
- Progressive client relationship and business development experience, with strong client relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations.
- Strong technical writing skills.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $247,000 based on experience and location.
