Counter Staff

Manifold is a neighborhood bakery opening in Venice this fall. After running viral pop-ups last year, we're moving to a permanent brick & mortar location. Everything is made from scratch and entirely plant-based: cookies, cakes, brioche, and focaccia.

We bake for wholesale accounts daily, and on Friday through Sunday customers order online and pick up in person. This role is those three days, 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. It's a short, busy window with a lot of people coming through. Everything is pre-ordered, so it moves fast, but without the chaos. A good fit if you're organized, quick on your feet, like talking to people, and want solid part-time hours with a small, close-knit team.

We're hiring two people for this role.

What you'll do

• Stage and pack pickup orders before doors open
• Greet customers and hand off orders during the pickup window
• Keep the area and pastry display looking their best so that everything is picture-perfect
• Work with the General Manager to keep the pickup queue moving
• Learn the full product list, including allergens, so you can answer questions confidently

What we're looking for

• Warm, unhurried presence with customers, even during a rush
• Accurate and organized: pickup orders have to be right the first time
• Reliable Friday through Sunday availability
• California Food Handler Card, or willing to obtain within 30 days
• Able to stand for a full shift and lift 30 lbs

Nice to have

• Café, retail, or food service experience
• Barista experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish
