Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Torrance, CA | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Utilize Epic for all clinical documentation and charting
• Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling, with an expected 6–8 weekend shifts per contract
• May be required to float to Pediatrics and/or a nearby sister facility as needed; support will be provided when floating to Peds
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid RN license — compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start (Charge RNs/Leads accepted)
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of candidate submission; post-submission RTO requests may not be granted
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard rates; candidates within 50 miles are welcome to apply at an adjusted rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a Pediatric or related unit is a plus given potential float requirements
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system
• Experience working in an acute care hospital environment
