- # TEMP - Building AttendantApply: Facilities Management: Posted Today: JR103247**Summary**Responsible for performing semi-skilled manual labor work in keeping offices, buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean and orderly condition. This is a **temporary assignment expected to last through March 2027**.**Schedule:** Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.**Pay Rate:** $17.00 per hour **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** *include the following. Other duties may be assigned*.* Maintain City facilities’ flooring by sweeping, mopping, shampooing and scrubbing.* Clean woodwork, furniture, desk, chairs, filing cabinets and telephones.* Complete detailed vacuuming of carpets and other applicable surfaces.* Maintain sanitary condition of facilities by cleaning sinks, mirrors, countertops, toilets and drinking fountains.* Complete special projects as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)* No experience required* Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. **Preferred Qualifications**Education/ Experience: * 6 months to 1 year experience in maintenance, custodial services or similar experience **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** * General knowledge of maintenance upkeep* Skill in operating general cleaning maintenance equipment* Ability to work to make independent decisions* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City personnel **Licenses and Certifications*** Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License **Physical Requirements / Work Environment**The incumbent works in an outdoor and indoor environment; with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Requires ability to carry 20 to 30 pounds. Tasks require physical labor, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
